I have been getting a lot of questions lately about how to start a blog and what tips I have for people wanting to dip their toes into the blogging world. Being a new blogger myself (and by no means an expert…..or even close), I have a fresh take on what would be helpful if you are just starting out. There are so many tips I have for you, but this one HUGE piece of advice stands out above all the others. This one thing can completely make or break your blogging dreams.

Now let’s break that down a little bit more. The great thing about expressing your personality through your blog and clothing is that people can get to know you, the real you. The quote by the one and only Coco Chanel says it best “Fashion fades, but style remains the same.” The trends will change from season to season and it is all about what you choose to do with those trends and how you want to style them. This is why it is so important to stay true your personal style. Don’t copy someone else or change the way you dress for someone else or because you think other people will like it more.

Another huge piece of this tip is to stay true to your values. It might be tempting to buy likes or followers for the instant gratification, but those followers are not engaged and they are not following you because they are actually interested in your content. Brands and PR firms can tell when you do this and it will only end up negatively impacting your reputation and overall engagement.

The big takeaway here is to be you (and this tip is for everyone, not just bloggers)! People want to follow someone who is authentic and engaging. Stay committed and post consistently with high quality content.
